Shop.com has introduced an additional 74 of its 1,000 merchant partner stores to Quixtar Inc., a web-only merchant of health and beauty products that has been expanding its offerings into other categories. The 74 stores bring the total number of merchants shared between Shop.com and Quixtar to 650, none of which directly compete with Quixtar’s health and beauty business.
Consumers can search either Shop.com or Quixtar.com for products in numerous categories and purchase items from multiple stores via Shop.com’s or Quixtar.com’s single shopping carts. The two shopping sites and the individual merchant partner stores share in the profit from sales.
Shop.com is the only online, multi-merchant marketplace partner of Quixtar, No. 22 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. The partnership is part of Shop.com’s affinity partner marketing strategy designed to enhance loyalty programs with its OneCart functionality and numerous merchant relationships.
