CEO Sharon Price John says Build-A-Bear’s old e-commerce system is a big reason for disappointing online sales in December.
Musical instrument and professional audio products retailer Sweetwater recently purchased Digital Pro Audio, another online merchant of sound gear. The deal follows the March acquisition of Lentine’s Music and adds to Sweetwater’s branding push.
Musical instrument and professional audio products retailer Sweetwater recently purchased Digital Pro Audio. Terms were not disclosed.
“The purchase of the Digital Pro Audio assets is part of an ongoing effort to expand the Sweetwater brand into the growing market for professional audio equipment of every description,” says Sweetwater founder and president Chuck Surack.
Sweetwater, No. 264 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, will continue the Digital Pro Audio name and web site, DigitalProAudio.com, but the site will be linked to Sweetwater.com.
The acquisition is Sweetwater’s second this year. In March, the company purchased the assets of Lentine’s Music, a musical instrument and equipment retail chain based in Akron, Ohio.
Digital Pro Audio specializes in “reasonably priced, but sophisticated” recording equipment, including studio workstations, monitors, microphones, portable digital recorders and MP3 players, Sweetwater says.
