Home and housewares e-retailer StacksandStacks.com added e-commerce technology including customer review and search engine optimization technology to boost 2006 sales by 29%. The addition of new interactive tools along with some 3,000 new products is behind the company’s sales boost, says Mel Ronick, president.
“We did our own site review at the beginning of 2006,” he says. “In September, we went to Bazaarvoice and brought customer reviews to the site.”
StacksandStacks, No. 286 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, also devoted unspecified resources to search engine optimization last year, Ronick says. “We come up very high organically with keywords. That’s very important in staying ahead.” The company signed on with ChannelAdvisor Corp. as its pay-per-click vendor last summer.
This year will bring a site redesign in the first quarter and a new web platform in the second quarter. Both projects will be assisted by InfoGate, a subsidiary of iGate Global Solutions Ltd.
