The feature is currently being tested in several of Drizly’s markets. It is expected to launch early next year.
In addition to a 27% jump in sales for FY 2006, the cataloger has launched a health and education web site, Pet Health 101.
Total sales at PetMed Express Inc. for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006, hit $137.6 million, a 27% jump over $108.4 million for the year ended March 31, 2005. The company acquired approximately 624,000 new customers during the just-ended fiscal year compared with 510,000 the previous year.
Approximately 57% of all 2005 orders at the cataloger were placed on its web site. Though the company does not break out web sales figures, 57% of orders gives PetMed online revenue of about $78.4 million, an increase of 38% from web sales of $56.8 million in FY 2005. The company is No. 110 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
In FY 2007 PetMed Express will continue to focus on reorder sales by initiating more relevant personalized communication and health education content for customers to assist them in choosing the right products for their pets, the company says. As part of this ongoing effort, the company recently launched a health and education web site, Pet Health 101.
