Diamond, jewelry and watch e-retailer sees tiny sales drop of 1% to $51.8 million compared with $52.2 million in 2004.
Sales at pure-play Odimo Inc., which specializes in diamonds, jewelry, watches and luxury goods, dropped 0.8% to $51.8 million compared with $52.2 million in 2004. Sales for Q4 2005 dropped 0.16% to $18.5 million compared with $21.5 million the same period in 2004.
Total orders in 2005 at Odimo decreased 2.7% to 151,700 compared with 155,840 in 2004. The average order value, however, increased 3.4% from $374 in 2004 to $387 last year. This increase reflects more sales of diamonds and jewelry, which have greater average order values than watches and luxury goods, the company says.
Odimo, No. 106 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, operates three e-commerce sites: Diamond.com, Ashford.com and WorldofWatches.com.
