Staples promotes Peter Howard to SVP of Staples Business Delivery

Peter Howard has been named senior vice president of Staples Business Delivery, which services small business and home office customers through Staples.com and catalogs.

Peter Howard has been named senior vice president of Staples Inc.’s Staples Business Delivery, overseeing all operations of Staples Business Delivery, which services small business and home office customers through Staples.com and catalogs. He will report to Joe Doody, president of Staples` North American Delivery business unit.

Howard joined Staples, No. 4 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, in 2000 and was vice president of sales and marketing for Staples Business Delivery. Before joining Staples, he was vice president of marketing for Ross-Simons, a multi-channel retailer of jewelry and gifts. He has held marketing positions with Digital Equipment Corp., The Bradford Exchange and Papermate Pen.

Howard succeeds Brian Light, who was appointed Staples chief information officer. Reporting to John Mahoney, Staples chief administrative officer, Light will lead the company`s information systems organization and information technology investments to support Staples` infrastructure.
