The search giant today rolled out new ways for marketers to understand the in-store impact of their ads.
Helped by sales of the latest Harry Potter novel, the online retail arm of Indigo Books and Music saw web sales hit $16.5 million in Q2 of fiscal 2006, up 41% from web sales of $11.7 million from the prior year.
Indigo Books & Music Inc. is reporting that e-commerce sales for the second quarter of the 2006 fiscal year totaled $16.5 million, an increase of 41% from $11.7 million from the same period a year ago.
Overall the web accounted for 10% of total sales of $156.8 million in Q2 2006 compared to the second quarter of fiscal 2005 when the Internet represented 8% of total sales of $141.6 million.
Online sales for ChaptersIndigo.ca, No 132 in the Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, were up in part because of strong sales of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the company says.
“Results this quarter show very satisfying momentum," says CEO Heather Reisman. "Supply chain improvements, a continued focus on customer service and in-store merchandising combined to improve performance overall."
