RadioShack hires a dotcom veteran to oversee its Canadian launch

Andrew Resnick, a former senior vice president of marketing for, will oversee all operations for RadioShack Canada Co., including the web.

RadioShack Corp. has hired Andrew Resnick as managing director of RadioShack Canada Co., overseeing all Canadian operations, including merchandising, marketing and advertising, human resources and the Internet. Resnick was most recently senior vice president of operations and marketing for Timothy’s World Coffee in Toronto where he was responsible for marketing, product development, merchandising, store operations and training for 230 franchise and company locations operating under three retail banners.

Resnick was also senior vice president of marketing for, a New York e-commerce company. At RadioShack Canada, Resnick will oversee the company’s web store, which will open in 2006.

On May 5, RadioShack announced the formation of a new Canadian subsidiary as part of the company’s planned North American expansion. The company has established a dealer network and plans to open as many as 30 company-owned stores by year-end.
