QVC grows January to June e-commerce revenues by 30%

QVC, a business unit of Liberty Media Corp., reported U.S. e-commerce revenues of $360 million for the first six months of 2005, compared with web sales of $277.1 million for the same period in 2004, an increase of 30%.

For the first half of 2005, QVC, which ranks as No. 15 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, reported that the web as a portion of its total U.S. revenue accounted for 17.5% of total sales of $2.06 billion, up slightly from 14.9% of total sales for the first six months of 2004. For the first half of 2004, QVC had total U.S. sales of $1.86 billion.

Also in the second quarter the company named Randy Ronning to be its chief merchandising officer of QVC Inc., overseeing the merchandising efforts of QVC and QVC.com and responsible for QVC.com operations.

In 2004, QVC, which reaches more than 80 million households with cable television, reported e-commerce sales of $739 million.
