MediaBay Inc., a provider of digital media that specializes in spoken work and audio entertainment, has named Patricia Campbell as chief operating officer. Campbell is former executive vice president of BarnesandNoble.com where she was responsible for Barnes & Noble`s online marketing strategy.
Campbell will lead MediaBay’s transition from an analog business to a digital distribution platform, as well as be responsible for the company`s day-to-day operations and the tactical implementation of new initiatives and products.
Campbell, one of only two women to chair the Direct Marketing Association, also has 15 years of magazine publishing experience at Time Inc., and Times Mirror Magazines where she held the position of President of Popular Science and Today`s Homeowner.
She has worked for MediaBay as a consultant for six moths.
Before joining MediaBay, Campbell was managing partner for the last four years of Terra Nova Marketing Solutions, an online and direct marketing company. She was also president of Direct Equity Partners LP, a $250 million private equity firm specializing in investments for direct marketing and Internet companies including Redenvelope.com, and has been a senior executive at Advanta, a $1.5 billion financial services company.
