Second-quarter online sales rose 23% year-to-year and are knocking the door of 2% of total retail sales, reports the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The U.S. Department of Commerce`s Census Bureau reported more robust growth in online retail sales in Q2, up 23% over a year ago. The report, out at the end of August, says online retail sales are knocking at the door of 2% of all retail sales. One caveat: The Commerce Department counts in all retail sales goods likely to never be sold online, such as fuel and restaurant food and drink.
