Internet Retailer, in conjunction with The E-Tailing Group Inc. and iPhrase Technologies Inc., announces the first in a series of webinars on practical applications of technology to online retailing. The webinar, Satisfying the Surgical Shopper: Best Practices and Technologies for Selling Online, will take place Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. Eastern time. It will feature leading consultant Lauren Freedman, president of The E-Tailing Group, Internet Retailer editor Kurt Peters and Andre Pino, senior vice president of iPhrase Technologies, who will discuss what motivates the directed web shopper and how to meet her needs. The webinar will also provide specific examples of retailers’ approaches to online selling and detail why they have been successful.
By Monday, retailers wishing to attend the webinar were turned away when registration reached the anticipated maximum, less than three weeks after the webinar was announced. But the sponsors expanded capacity and registration is now open to unlimited attendees. Those wishing to attend may click here or on the banner ad above to register.
Featured presenter Lauren Freedman will provide proprietary research on what benefits the top 100 web sites have gained from deploying a wide range of technologies. In addition, Kurt Peters, will provide analysis of web sales during the 2003 holiday shopping season and of the lessons to be learned from them. Finally, André Pino will discuss how to use site search technology to meet the demands of web shoppers on a mission.
The webinar will deal with such issues as:
--Who are the surgical online shoppers that account for 80% of web purchases and what makes them click and convert.
--What technologies and practices work best for increasing conversion rates and average order size while reducing site abandonment.
--How advanced self-service search and site navigation systems can improve web site profitability by satisfying shoppers on a mission through improved access to products, product information and cross-channel services.
--How to select a customer-focused site search and navigation platform.
--How a major online merchant is using self-service search and navigation to achieve a three-fold increase in conversion rates and deliver an industry-leading online shopping experience.
