Amazon.com just won’t stop. Today, it launched a Gourmet Food store, featuring products from a raft of other retailers. The Gourmet Food store follows a similar launch exactly a year ago of an Amazon Apparel store and earlier this year of a sporting goods store.
To promote the gourmet food section, Amazon is giving shoppers who spend $50 or more on gourmet food, apparel or sporting goods a $10 certificate toward a future Amazon.com purchase.
Among the merchants partnering with Amazon are Dean & DeLuca and Omaha Steaks, as well as smaller merchants such as Alaska Smokehouse and Dave`s Gourmet. Customers place all purchases in a single shopping cart and check out with one payment, no matter how many merchants are represented in the purchase.
