Ace Hardware Corp. will re-launch its e-commerce web site in the second quarter featuring 41,000 products. GSI will provide technology and customer service. Ace will fulfill the orders from its regional distribution centers.
Ace Hardware Corp. will re-launch its e-commerce web site in the second quarter featuring 41,000 products, the company reports. GSI Commerce will provide technology and customer service for AceHardware.com and Ace Hardware will fulfill customer orders through its national network of 15 distribution centers.
Ace launched an e-commerce site in 1999 with the operation outsourced. When that project didn’t work out, it established an online marketing site but without e-commerce capabilities. In this new venture, Ace will control product selection, pricing, advertising and fulfillment.
The site will feature a pick-up-at-the-store option whereby a customer’s order will be delivered to a local Ace Hardware store.
