Web-based sales continue to grow strongly at The Sportsman’s Guide Inc., accounting for 30% of all sales in the second quarter, which ended June 30, the company reported today. The Sportsman`s Guide says it expects to report total sales of $34 million to $35 million for the quarter. Sales at sportsmansguide.com totaled about $10.5 million. In the same quarter last year, the company’s total sales reached $31.8 million and web sales were under 20%.
Web sales at the Sportsman’s Guide last year accounted for 21% of all sales. In 2000, web sales were 15% of all sales.
The Sportsman`s Guide offers value-priced outdoor gear and general merchandise, with an emphasis on outdoor clothing, equipment and footwear, through direct mail catalogs and two Internet sites: SportsmansGuide.com and BargainOutfitters.com.
