Retail giant Wal-Mart has signed a sales and marketing deal with leading cruise line operator, Carnival Cruise Corp.
Walmart’s low prices soon will include ocean cruises at Walmart.com. The company has signed an exclusive sales and marketing agreeement with Carnival Cruise Corp. to provide low-priced cruises at Walmart.com. Walmart says that customers will be refunded the difference if they find a cruise for less money than at its web site. Carnival says partnering with Walmart.com helps them overcome the challenge of finding the retail support needed to market and sell its specially-priced vacations.
Walmart.com customers can now choose from specials on all of Carnival’s cruise lines, which includes Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, The Yachts of Seabourn and Windstar Cruises. Packages ranging from a $247 three-day cruise to the Bahamas to $3,749 for a seven-day Mediterranean cruise. While the cruises will be advertised on Walmart.com, customers must call a toll free number on the site to do the bookings.
