Competition for the plus-size online shopper is heating up. Earlier this year, Plus Ventures opened the PlusSize.com site for women size 12 or larger. Today, Elliot Brown Investments announced it has opened ElliotBrownBoutique.com, catering to the same market.
Similar to PlusSize.com, ElliotBrownBoutique.com is an online mall that offers links to retailers who sell plus-size fashions. In addition, it offers entertainment and other information, including news on plus-size celebrities, fashion and health news, and discounts.
“EBB Mall`s intent is to broaden our base of the type of shopper interested in our site to include, not only those looking for new apparel, but also those looking for entertainment,” said owner Zenia M. Stept. “We hope to increase the length of time the average shopper spends in the mall through the use of a variety of options, such as the Love Connection/Personals, modeling advice, books and magazines pertaining to social issues affecting the full figure women, contests, recipes, social clubs, chat rooms, restaurant advice, horoscope and psychic reading, new releases of videos and DVD`s and a casino."
