Blue Nile has a good month

BlueNile.com is having a banner holiday shopping season so far. Unique visitors are up 69% in November over last November, while the number of customers has increased 25%.

Blue Nile Inc.’s BlueNile.com is having a banner holiday shopping season so far, the online jewelry retailer reported today. Unique visitors to BlueNile.com are up 69% in November over last November, while the number of customers has increased 25%. Revenue is up 17%, the number of diamonds sold is up 17% and the number of fine jewelry pieces sold is up 39%.

The company says diamond engagement rings top the list of best sellers in November, up 27% compared with last year. Another big seller: Lockets.

"We`re seeing a continuing trend in classic and timeless gifts during these turbulent times," said Vice President of Marketing Sue Bell.
