CornerDrugstore.com, a Rockville MD-based provider of b2b and b2c solutions for independent pharmacies, has extended an agreement to provide web services to the 12,000-member Federation of Pharmacy Networks to provide web services. Under the agreement, CornerDrugstore.com, a subsidiary of pharmacy technology provider SymRx Inc., will provide state-of-the-art technology including individualized web sites, professional and patient health care content and a variety of other services and solutions that allow independent pharmacies to maintain a competitive web presence.
The Federation of Pharmacy Networks will encourage its 20 buying group member organizations and the 12,000 independent pharmacies and small pharmacy chains to join CornerDrugstore.com’s network. “The Internet has created an entirely new interactive medium for the independent and small chain pharmacy,” says Susan Farrell, executive director of the federation. “The continuing expansion and improvement of services is evidence of SymRx’s commitment to CornerDrugstore.com and independent pharmacy.” Currently, CornerDrugstore.com provides services to about 2,000 independent pharmacies and small pharmacy chains.
