Yahoo Inc. today announced the availability of Yahoo Shopping on web-enabled mobile phones in the United States. Shoppers can browse for, compare prices for and purchase books, music and movies directly from their mobile phones. This launch integrates the functionality of Yahoo Shopping, recently ranked the No. 1 portal shopping site on the web by Nielsen//NetRatings, into Yahoo's suite of mobile offerings. "Since consumers are increasingly pressed for time, especially during the holiday season, we are pleased to provide them with the convenience of being able to shop for movies, music and books from their Web-enabled phones," said Anurag Mendhekar, director of Yahoo Everywhere, Yahoo Inc. With the launch of Yahoo Shopping on web-enabled phones, consumers on the go can browse through thousands of product offerings; search for specific books, music or videos and DVDs; and find gift suggestions from the Yahoo Shopping team for a variety of lifestyles -- from the "Tech Geek" to the "Green Thumb." They can also compare prices across hundreds of Yahoo merchants and, for those consumers who have a Yahoo Wallet, purchase an item -- all from their mobile phone.
