Webvan Group, Inc. today announced has signed a lease for the construction of a national customer service center in North Las Vegas, Nev. At full capacity, the customer service center will employ 900. The 67,000-square-foot facility is being leased from Jackson-Shaw/Northport LP. "Webvan provides its customers with the complete shopping experience that has eluded most e-commerce companies - selection, fulfillment, personalized delivery, and unparalleled customer service," said George T. Shaheen, chairman and CEO of Webvan Group Inc. "Developing a national customer service center represents a cost-effective and efficient commitment to superior customer service." Webvan did not disclose terms of the lease or a timeline for construction and commencement of operation.
