Retailers shift their ad spending from TV, radio and print ads to digital ads.
San Francisco-based Visa issuer (www.nextcard.com) NextCard Inc. today published a ranking of online retailers listed in order of purchase volume by approximately 100,000 of its cardholders. The "NextCard Top Ten eHoliday Retailers" list indicates that online shopping surged in the second half of November, with toy merchants accounting for much of the increase. (www.amazon.com) Amazon.com, (www.barnesandnoble.com) Barnes & Noble.com, (www.buy.com) Buy.com, (www.reel.com) Reel.com and (www.onsale.com) OnSale.com are the top five sites in terms of NextCard cardholders purchase volume online. Amazon's sales volume increased 84% over the previous two week's volume. Number 6-ranked (www.etoys.com) eToys.com increased sales volume a list-high 233% over the same period.
