The search giant today rolled out new ways for marketers to understand the in-store impact of their ads.
BlueLight.com, Kmart's independent e-commerce company, has signed 1 million subscribers to its free Internet service in 14 weeks since its launch. BlueLight was formed by Kmart and Softbank Investment Capital, with investments from Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. and Yahoo! Inc.
The million-customer mark comes two months ahead of company predictions and surpasses previous records set by all paid and no-cost Internet service providers. BlueLight.com expects it will reach more than three million subscribers by year-end. A survey of BlueLight.com subscribers found that 40% are new to the Internet or did not have Internet access when they signed on. BlueLight says its ISP is accessible by 96% of the U.S. population.
