And mobile revenue increases year over year on Black Friday, as more shoppers turn to their smartphones, a new study finds.
FanBuzz.com, a provider of e-commerce solutions to the sports team and league licensed industry, has closed an $8 million round of financing led by Housatonic Partners, Boston. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed, says the Minneapolis-based e-retailer of fan licensed merchandise. Other investors in FanBuzz.com include Peterson Ventures, Trust Investments and GlobalNet Management.
The company says it will use the new capital "to expand its leadership position in the marketplace," says FanBuzz.com CEO Scott Killian. He adds that it will continue to invest in infrastructure that supports client storefronts, including a new call center, additional technology and its e-fulfillment operations.
FanBuzz.com clients include the National Hockey League, the Chicago White Sox, the Heisman Memorial Trophy, Fox Sports, USA Today, Fogdog Sports and others, it says.
