Allurent on Demand Now Available: Monthly Subscription-Based Hosted Service Provides Retailers with Effective and Innovative Online Merchandising Experiences in Just Days
First Customers, Leon’s and Flooring America, Quickly and Cost-Effectively Add Interactive Merchandising Displays to their Online Stores
PHOENIX -February 24, 2009 - Today at eTail West 2009, Allurent™, the market leader in powering superior online shopping experiences, announced the availability of Allurent on Demand (AOD), a software-as-a-service (SaaS) approach to providing interactive online merchandising experiences that increase customer satisfaction and improve site conversion. Allurent’s hosted solution reduces the time, cost and complexity of designing, building and integrating interactive merchandising displays into e-commerce sites.
“In this environment, retailers must innovate on their e-commerce sites or risk losing market share. But they also need to reduce up-front investment and long-term risk. That’s a tall order; one that Allurent on Demand perfectly meets,” said Joe Chung, co-founder and CEO of Allurent. “With Allurent on Demand, we are bringing interactive online shopping experiences – which online shoppers increasingly expect – to many more retailers, much more quickly.”
With a low cost-of-entry and a month-to-month payment structure, Allurent on Demand leverages the SaaS model to encourage retailers to constantly experiment with new online merchandising approaches. Using Allurent’s growing library of engaging and easy-to-shop AOD widgets, new merchandising displays can be launched in just a few hours. Retailers select an AOD widget, brand it to match their online store and publish it to a specific page (or a set of pages). Retail merchandisers then use AOD’s Presentation Manager tool to dynamically update the widget’s content, ensuring the displays stay fresh and relevant without the need for ongoing IT involvement.
Blueport Commerce Implements Allurent on Demand
Blueport Commerce (formerly Furniture.com, #164 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide) is the first, non-exclusive partner to offer Allurent on Demand to its retailer customers and has already integrated AOD into its e-commerce platform. Blueport Commerce’s clients, Flooring America, a cooperative of more than 600 member-owned floor covering stores in the United States and Canada, and Leon’s, Canada’s most successful home furnishings retailer, are now using AOD merchandising widgets on their websites.
“Leon’s is always looking to offer our Internet customers new shopping experiences. We are excited that through relationships with suppliers such as Blueport Commerce and Allurent, there is the potential to do this,” says Dave Leon, Systems and Procedures National Manager for Leon’s Furniture Ltd.
“Interactive merchandising drives higher sales and customer satisfaction, which are more important than ever for retailers right now. But, interactive merchandising is not necessarily easy,” explains Carl Prindle, founder and CEO of Blueport Commerce. “Our online retailers want to be able to upgrade and refresh the merchandising features on their sites. They need a solution that is quick to deploy, pay-as-you-go, and easy to adjust and maintain over time. To address those needs, we chose Allurent on Demand.” Retailers and e-commerce technology providers interested in receiving more information about AOD, including a video overview, can visit www.allurent.com/aod or contact the sales team at sales@allurent.com for a live demo.
