-- Nationwide Specialty Fashion Retailer to Become Electronically Enabled Utilizing Leading Suite of Hosted Integration Services --
St. Paul, MN, May 25, 2004 - SPS Commerce, the leading Supply Chain Integration Service provider, announced today that specialty fashion retailer The Wet Seal, Inc. (Nasdaq: WTSLA) will implement SPS Commerce`s Vendor Enablement and Management Program to outsource all internal and external transaction processes, electronically integrating their supplier community and streamlining internal operations.
The Wet Seal will onboard its suppliers with SPS` Vendor Enablement Service, which includes EDI testing and migration services to assure seamless integration of the entire supplier base regardless of their electronic transaction capabilities. The Wet Seal will also utilize SPS` Ship to Store Services to implement cost-effective business processes that will improve the electronic order management relationship between Wet Seal and its suppliers.
With approximately 600 stores and annual revenues of more than $500 million, The Wet Seal is implementing an electronic infrastructure for the first time with SPS Commerce. SPS` hosted services will allow The Wet Seal to exchange purchasing and invoice documents with suppliers at all levels of EDI capability, reducing the economic and process burdens inherent in traditional paper, phone, and fax transactions without a major technology investment for either party.
"In partnership with SPS Commerce and our vendors, we will be able to implement a more seamless order, delivery and payment process," said Joseph Deckop, SVP Central Planning and Allocation of The Wet Seal, Inc. "We are very impressed with SPS` trusted, proven solutions and their ability to simultaneously bring cost-efficiency to our company and ease-of-use to our vendors."
SPS Commerce`s multiple order management models are designed to assist companies with electronic orders of all sizes and types. The Ship to Store order management model will enable The Wet Seal`s stores to receive product shipments directly from suppliers rather than shipping to a central distribution center, providing faster replenishment and greater savings on distribution facilities than a centralized distribution model.
"The Wet Seal is a prime example of how companies with little or no electronic transaction experience can leverage the power and capabilities of our hosted services to cost-effectively streamline their processes," said Archie Black, CEO of SPS Commerce. "Many retailers are realizing how they can maximize savings and efficiency by outsourcing with SPS Commerce for our comprehensive suite of services."
