Barnes and Noble leads March iPhone response time tests

Barnes and Noble’s mobile site loaded fastest across the three major carriers.

Barnes and Noble’s mobile site produced the fastest iPhone access time across all service providers among large web retailers in March, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, BarnesandNoble.com produced an average iPhone mobile response time of 5.16 seconds.

Sears.com came in second in iPhone testing with 5.67 seconds, followed by Williams-Sonoma.com (5.78 seconds), OfficeDepot.com (5.84) and Blockbuster.com (6.08).

Gomez measures the average iPhone response time for the three major service carriers: AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. Testing for each of the 20 retailers takes place once per hour per carrier from two U.S. locations (Virginia and California).

Gomez measures response time as the end-to-end time elapsed while downloading each mobile site.
