Heidi Radigan, director of marketing at catalog and web retailer Universal Screen Arts Inc., left the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition 2012 with a new set of car keys in her pocket.
Radigan won a 2012 Chrysler 300C in the Win-the-Wheels contest. She submitted her completed Win-the-Wheels contest form at the Internet Retailer booth on the exhibit floor after visiting the booths of 20 participating exhibitors. This year, attendees could submit up to two entries, each one with stamps from 20 exhibitors.
Radigan was enjoying lunch with two colleagues when her name was drawn. She heard the company name called out in the exhibit hall, but not her name. Radigan realized she might have missed something as her colleagues coyly smiled at her. But without the persuasion of another colleague her name might not have been called at all.
Radigan’s colleague convinced her to collect the stamps because she needed only 20 instead of 40, as had been required in prior years at IRCE. “My colleague always made an effort to get around and visit the booths,” Radigan said. Radigan had attempted to get all the stamps in the past, but never collected enough before this year.
Universal Screen Arts is the company behind Signals, Wireless and What on Earth catalogs and e-commerce sites such as basbleu.com and florianajewels.com.
