Standing out among all the daily deal sites can be difficult, but not for zulily Inc., as the e-retailer of mom and baby gear, which launched in 2010, brought in an estimated $8.7 million in its first year in business. Zulily.com attracted more than 6.6 million visits in July 2011, 16.3% of all traffic to 87 flash-sale sites tracked by Experian Hitwise. The site features adorable photos of laughing babies clad in tutus or flowered hats and charming behind-the-scenes details like this description for 32 Degrees children’s hats: “One snowy afternoon, Christine Haley started sketching and sewing in her Westminster, Massachusetts kitchen. She was designing hats just for the fun of it because she couldn't find any out there that were cute and warm enough for her kids. That’s how 32 Degrees was born!”
