Beyond the Rack, the private event sales site that serves primarily Canada, is going beyond apparel.
Beyond the Rack, No. 191 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide is launching BTR Home as an expanded section on its web site that will sell housewares and home furnishings. "Our members have always responded exceptionally well to our home sales events, so it was a natural progression for us to expand further into this exciting market," says CEO Yona Shtern.
BTR Home will conduct up to six daily private event sales of bed and bath, furniture, decor, kitchenware, art and related merchandise at discounts of up to 80%, the company says. Popular brands include Polo, Kosta Boda, Kitchen Aid, Cuisinart appliances and Denby.
To generate interest in BTR Home, the new section on BeyondtheRack.com will feature top decor professionals such as interior decorators Brad Boles and Dina Manzo who will offer decorating tips and style recommendations, updating that content throughout October.
"Listening to our members' feedback has always been integral to our success and we are very excited about providing them with BTR Home that brings them the same type of savings, service, and assortment they have already come to expect from Beyond the Rack," says Shtern.
Beyond the Rack, which posted e-commerce sales of about $77 million in 2010, conducts up to 15 private event sales daily for more than 5 million members in North America, the company says.
