Sears names a new CEO for Lands’ End

Edgar Huber oversaw global business development for Liz Claiborne.

Sears Holdings Corp. has named a new leader for its Lands’ End apparel division. Edgar Huber takes over as CEO and president. He comes from apparel retailer Liz Claiborne Inc., where he was executive vice president, global business development.

Sears is No. 7 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide; Liz Claiborne is No. 340.

"One of the tenets of the cultural transformation we are building at Sears Holdings is that everything begins and ends with the customer, something that has been a hallmark of Lands' End's business for the nearly 50 years of its existence,” says Lou D'Ambrosio, CEO and president of Sears.  “I am confident that Edgar will not only be a strong steward of that history, but given his deep background in retailing and brand building both in the U.S. and abroad, that he will be able to grow the business and find new ways to delight Lands' End's customers.”

Huber also held executive positions with Liz Claiborne’s Juicy Couture brand and at French cosmetic and beauty supply company L'Oreal; one of his jobs there was leading its luxury product groups in Europe and Russia, according to Sears.

In May, Nick Coe, the former president of Lands’ End, accepted the CEO job at Bath & Body Works LLC, No. 18 in the Top 500 Guide. Sears sued Bath & Body Works because it said Coe was prevented by his severance agreement from working for any Sears competitor for a year. The suit was settled out of court for undisclosed terms.
