The web gains for Weight Watchers in Q3

Web sales grew year over year 21.7%.

The web accounted for a bigger percentage of total sales for Weight Watchers International Inc. in the third quarter.

For the third quarter ended Oct. 2, Weight Watchers, No. 79 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, reported:

“In the third quarter, I was pleased by the robust revenue growth in our WeightWatchers.com business and the further strengthening of our North American meeting operations,” says CEO David Kirchhoff. “We continued to invest in our strategic initiatives which, together with the upcoming program innovations, are laying the groundwork for future growth.”

Internet Retailer calculates the web accounted for 18.3% of total sales compared with 15.3% in the third quarter of 2009.

For the first nine months of the year, Weight Watchers also reported:
