gsi interactive to Redesign NASCAR Web Store for 2009 Holiday Season
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., July 29, 2009 – GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC), a leading provider of e-commerce and multichannel solutions, today announced a multiyear extension and expansion of its e-commerce agreement with Turner Sports, in partnership with NASCAR. Under the agreement, GSI will continue to provide Turner Sports and NASCAR with e-commerce technology, fulfillment, customer care, catalog services and interactive marketing services, including e-mail.
“Everything we do at NASCAR is focused on delivering the very best for our fans. From the best racing in the world to world-class, NASCAR-licensed products. For years, GSI has played a big part in delivering for our fans as NASCAR.COM Superstore offers the widest selection and deepest collection of NASCAR Driver products found anywhere in the world. Starting with customer service and any other metric you would want to measure, GSI delivers,” said Paul Brooks, senior vice president of NASCAR and president of NASCAR Media Group.
In addition to e-commerce services, the agreement extends a full complement of marketing services provided by gsi interactivesm, GSI’s digital agency. Marketing services include paid search marketing, comparison shopping engines, affiliate marketing, display advertising, emerging media, and e-mail services powered by e-Dialog, GSI’s e-mail marketing subsidiary. gsi interactive will also complete a full redesign of the NASCAR Web store, which is expected to launch before the 2009 holiday season. gsi interactive’s usability team recently took its lab on the road to conduct a comprehensive, onsite usability study with more than 50 NASCAR fans at the Dover International Speedway in Dover, Del. Data from the study will be used in conjunction with the redesign and to craft future e-commerce strategies for the NASCAR business.
“The Turner relationship presented NASCAR as GSI’s first professional sports opportunity more than six years ago. Our relationships with Turner and NASCAR are highly valued at GSI as they continue to be collaborative partners. Our goal has always been to continue to provide cutting-edge e-commerce services and products to the passionate NASCAR fans,” said Bob Liewald, executive vice president of Merchandising for GSI.
GSI has agreements to manage the Web stores for all of the major professional sports leagues in the U.S., which includes NASCAR, NHL, Major League Baseball, the NFL and the NBA. Major League Soccer is managed through GSI’s relationship with Baseball Advanced Media.
