New Feature Helps Shoppers Rapidly Locate Products And Boosts Online Merchants’ Sales

West Chicago, IL – July 7, 2009 – Reinhart Technologies Inc. today announced the addition and general availability of guided navigation features to their popular CyberSiteSearch E-Commerce site search tool.

The purpose of e-commerce site search is to assist visitors to rapidly locate and purchase products on a web site. It accomplishes this by helping them view product information and navigate through product choices.

However, shoppers often begin their search using vague and general terms and frequently abandon the search in frustration and leave the web site altogether because too many choices are returned in an unstructured manner. Guided navigation helps solve this problem by allowing the visitor to easily and rapidly narrow the search in a highly structured fashion. This is particularly useful when the site’s inventory includes many products with complex attributes or features.

The advantage to customers is that they find the merchant’s site easier to navigate. The advantage to the merchant is that more visitors are converted to paying customers.

“A perfect example would be coffee”, explained a company spokesperson, “which can be described using a vocabulary that includes words such as roast, grind, caffeination, certification, packaging, etc. A potential customer would almost certainly be confused by the array of choices returned by a site search for a broad term like “coffee”. However, guided navigation permits that visitor to very easily and quickly sift through those results. In this example, the visitor could easily narrow the search results by roast, grind, etc., and zero in on that perfect Fair Trade certified, dark roast, whole bean, decaf coffee, in a one pound package.”

Another advantage of guided navigation is that it displays product features and options that might have been otherwise overlooked. For example, a shopper might not know that an item is available in a certain pattern or color, a product was available from a certain manufacturer, a lower cost option exists, etc. Guided navigation makes the full repertoire of product attributes visible in a highly structured and easily navigated fashion.

CyberSiteSearch affords a proven methodology that combines site search tools, merchandising, and search marketing features. Web sites using CyberSiteSearch experience increases in both the number of visitors from search engines and sales conversion rate.

The product is implemented using a “hosted” or “Software as a Service” (Saas) model, where all the software actually resides on the vendor’s servers. As a result, merchants need not license or install costly and complicated software on their server.

“Merchant Friendly Pricing” is set at just pennies per SKU per month, making the product particularly attractive to small and medium size business web sites.

A free version is available for starter web sites.
