Ecommerce Company Picks ExactTarget to Power Integrated Text Messaging

Beyond Commerce to Use ExactTarget’s Text Messaging, Email Platform to Help Marketers Develop Relationships with Clients

INDIANAPOLIS (April 1, 2009) – Advertising and e-commerce provider Beyond Commerce, Inc. announced today that it will integrate SMS text messaging into the marketing campaigns of tens of thousands of client companies as part of an expanded relationship with one-to-one marketing solutions provider ExactTarget.

Beyond Commerce, which provides local online advertising and e-commerce solutions through its proprietary advertising platform LocalAdLink, its e-commerce engine i-SUPPLY and its social networking and online shopping site BOOMj, will begin using the text technology immediately to help its clients communicate more directly with consumers in markets across the country.

“By integrating the technology into its existing ExactTarget-powered email marketing efforts, Beyond Commerce will give its advertisers a competitive edge with the ability to deliver real-time coupons directly to consumer’s mobile devices drawing consumers to their door immediately,” said Tracy Jagerman, Beyond Commerce’s executive director of communications. “LocalAdLInk’s SMS coupon marketing campaigns will be successful because in a rough economy, frugal shoppers turn to coupons.

“Once ExactTarget technology is implemented, our subscribers will be able to opt-in via their mobile phone or online to receive coupons for businesses they select in their local area,” she said.

More than 60 percent of American consumers decreased their shopping expenses in October 2008 and were using coupons more often to do so, according to comScore’s “State of the US Online Retail Economy: Q3 2008”. The report found coupon usage has risen to the third-most-popular strategy for cost cutting in the country.
