JDA Software Group Inc., a provider of web-enabled enterprise software, said a 128% year-to-year rise in fourth quarter software contracts with retailers and retail suppliers in its Americas region led to record overall revenue for the fourth quarter and year ended Dec. 31.
“Our year-end and fourth quarter results were record-breaking for JDA, making this the best quarter and year in our company’s history,” CEO Hamish Brewer says. JDA’s software offerings include integrated applications to help retailers manage merchandising, supply chains and revenue.
JDA’s Q4 activity included several contracts with U.S. retailers, including Staples Inc., Limited Stores LLC, CVS Pharmacy Inc., Gander Mountain Co., Mark’s Work Wearhouse Ltd. and Wegman’s Food Markets. Q4 contracts with retail industry suppliers included Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and Cadbury Adams USA LLC.
JDA also signed Q4 contracts with European retailers Tesco Stores Ltd, Wilkinson Hardware Stores Ltd. and The Foschini Retail Group Ltd., and with Saigon Union of Trading Cooperatives and Sigma Pharmaceutical Ltd. in the Asia-Pacific region.
JDA posted overall Q4 revenue of $106.2 million, up 7.8% from $98.5 million a year ago. For the full year, it said total revenue rose 4.4% to $390.3 million from $373.6 million a year ago.
The company reported a Q4 GAAP net loss of $10.4 million, compared to GAAP net income a year ago of $8 million. The net loss includes $29.7 million in costs related to the terminated acquisition of i2 Technologies Inc., which also provides web-enabled supply chain and enterprise software.
For the full year, GAAP net income was $6.2 million, compared to $26.5 million in the prior year.
