Rob Schmults Joins Bazaarvoice Advisory Board

Bazaaarvoice engages former GSI Commerce executive to provide strategic guidance on social commerce technology and strategic services

Schmults, who most recently served as vice president of business management at GSI Commerce, has held executive roles at software and consulting service providers in addition to overseeing the operations of multiple eCommerce businesses during his 15-year career. He brings unparalleled insight into the opportunities and challenges involving eCommerce and the multichannel evolution in his new role as Bazaarvoice advisor.

In his role at GSI Commerce, Rob Schmults led the teams responsible for the online stores of partners such as adidas, Bath and Body Works, Dick’s Sporting Goods, iRobot, Sports Authority, and Timberland. He worked closely with these and other partners to support their expansion into emerging opportunities including customized products, paper catalogs, and multi-channel commerce. Prior to joining GSI Commerce, Schmults was responsible for the retail practice of Fort Point Partners, a leading eCommerce consulting and systems integration boutique whose clients included Best Buy, Finish Line, J.Crew, Martha Stewart, and Restoration Hardware. He also worked for McKinsey & Company advising retail and media clients on their Internet and eCommerce strategies in the U.S. and Europe. Schmults’s initiation into the Internet took place in 1994, when he joined Internet software pioneer Worlds Inc. Schmults received his BA from Yale, a MA in Philosophy from Cambridge, and an MBA with high distinction from Harvard.
