Kevin Sterneckert, a veteran of retailers including Wal-Mart Stores and H.E. Butt Grocery, has joined research and advisory firm AMR Research as a research director covering the retail industry.

Kevin Sterneckert, a veteran of retailers including Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and H.E. Butt Grocery Co., has joined research and advisory firm AMR Research Inc. as research director for the retail industry.
Sterneckert will explore best practices in merchandise planning, financial planning and management of merchandise assortment, space and allocation, AMR says.
Sterneckert most recently served as senior director of web-enabled merchandise planning and optimization technology at Oracle Corp., where he was responsible for the global product strategies for retail merchandise planning, lifecycle price optimization and supply chain optimization applications.
He has also served as CIO for Big V Supermarkets, where the led the implementation of 20 technology systems, and has served in merchandising, supply chain, pricing and store operations positions at Wal-Mart, H.E. Butt and Hechinger Co.
Sterneckert’s joining AMR follows the recent departure of Rob Garf, who had served AMR as vice president of retail strategies.
