Blue Sky Factory Inc., an e-mail services provider focused on the travel and hospitality industries, has acquired e-mail marketing firm nTarget whose customer list includes online retailers. The purchase price was not disclosed.

“While we have always serviced the travel/tourism and hospitality industries, we are now poised to serve a larger concentration of industry providers,” says Greg Cangialosi, president of Blue Sky Factory.

Founded in 1999, nTarget has been a subsidiary of software developer InterCerve Inc. NTarget employs a software-as-a-service model, meaning clients access software hosted by nTarget. Among nTarget’s online retailer clients is Jeffers Inc., No. 301 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, which operates JeffersPet.com and other e-commerce sites.

All nTarget employees will be retained. John Kirk, the company’s head of sales and marketing, will oversee a new Blue Sky Factory operations center in North Carolina, where nTarget was based. Blue Sky, founded in 2001, has its headquarters in Baltimore.

Investment firm The Targhee Group LLC assisted on the transaction.
