Big retailers keep their web site availability rates constant

Web shoppers in December could access a top 50 retail site with a high broadband connection an average of 99.24% of the time, compared with an average of 99.81% for a low broadband connection and 81.63% for dial-up, says Gomez Inc.

Web shoppers in December could access a top 50 retail site with a high broadband connection an average of 99.24% of the time, compared with an average of 99.81% for a low broadband connection and 81.63% for dial-up, says Gomez Inc.

The retailers delivering the best dial-up success rate in December included Nordstrom.com at 93.81% and PCConnection.com at 93.08%.

The web merchant providing the best low broadband availability was Chadwicks.com at 99.69%, while Saks.com had the best high broadband availability at 99.68%

the United States, 24 hours a day except between 3AM to 6AM EDT.

Availability is determined by the percentage of tests that fail to

correctly load.
