Long-time Shop.org chairman Elaine Rubin steps down

Trade group Shop.org has named Richard Last, vice president of new business development for JC Penney’s jcp.com, as its new chairman. Last replaces Elaine Rubin, who co-founded Shop.org and has been chairman for eight years.

Trade group Shop.org, a unit of the National Retail Federation, has named Richard Last, vice president of new business development for JC Penney Co. Inc.’s jcp.com, as its new chairman. JupiterResearch senior analyst for retail Patricia Freeman Evans becomes Shop.org’s new vice chairman.

Last replaces Elaine Rubin, who co-founded Shop.org and has been chairman for eight years. Last, who has been a board member for six years, had been Shop.org’s vice chairman. Rubin will continue as a board member. Rubin is a consultant heading up Ekrubin Inc.

In addition, Troy Brown, senior director and general manager of Timberland.com, and Kelly Mooney, president of Resource Interactive, were appointed to Shop.org’s four-person executive committee. The Executive Committee is selected from Shop.org’s 17-person board of directors, which is elected by the Shop.org membership.
