Riding its wave of publicity that has reached the Food Network and the Academy Awards, RomânicosChocolate.com is planning to launch three additional sites, owner and founder Alejandra Bigai tells Internet Retailer..

RomânicosChocolate.com operates out of a single kitchen with one store in Miami, but its reputation for hand-made chocolates fashioned from Bigai’s Venezuelan family recipes has won it acclaim far beyond its Florida base. It has been featured on Food Network TV programs and national news media, and the Academy Awards has given its chocolates as gifts to Oscar winners.

Now Bigai is ready to expand. “I want to have three more sites,” she says. In addition to RomânicosChocolate.com, which will continue to serve as her main retail site, Bigai plans to have separate sites for party and wedding favors, for corporate gifts, and for a chocolate club that will provide its regular customers special offers throughout the year.

“By Valentine’s Day, I hope to have at least one new site,” Bigai says. Bigai operates her online business on the NetSuite e-commerce platform, which can support multiple sites, she says.
