Midwest Dairy Looks to Reduce Out of Stocks and Capture Lost Sales
WEST CHESTER, PENN. - February 26, 2007 - Prescient Applied Intelligence, Inc. (OTCBB: PPID), a leading provider of supply chain and advanced commerce solutions for retailers and suppliers, today announced that Liberty Ice Cream, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has selected Prescient to conduct store level replenishment (SLR) with Midwest retail partner Meijer.
Liberty Ice Cream, a major supplier of ice cream and novelties, is implementing store level replenishment to accommodate Meijer`s move to a scan based trading (SBT) business model. As part of its Prescient-powered SBT program, Meijer will require suppliers to generate their own replenishment orders. Prescient`s on demand solution provides visibility into store level movement and activity and generates orders based on point-of-sale data. Companies such as Liberty Ice Cream are able to optimize store-level demand forecasting and replenishment, resulting in fewer out of stocks and lost sales.
"The Prescient solution is easy to configure and provides us with the flexibility we need to handle the complexities of our business," said Jon Vander Woude, ice cream sales manager at Liberty Ice Cream. "We will be generating orders based on scan information that reflects consumer behavior, therefore out of stocks should go down and sales up."
"Prescient is a recognized leader in replenishment execution as well as scan based trading," said Jane Hoffer, president and CEO of Prescient. "This transaction with Liberty Ice Cream represents our company`s vision of providing solutions that serve both suppliers and retailers by coupling supply chain planning solutions with retail programs to drive results at the store shelf."
