Demandware Inc., an on-demand e-commerce platform offered under a software-as-a-service model, will introduce a new platform version in the first quarter that feeds a retail site’s product and pricing data to third-party shopping sites, CEO Stephan Schambach told Internet Retailer at the Shop.org show this week.

“We’ll announce a new platform version in the first quarter that will provide data feeds to shopping sites, as we focus on business processes,” Schambach says, adding that Demandware will also soon announce other features in the new version.

Demandware, which caters mostly to retailers doing from $50 million to $200 million a year in sales, also recently announced that it is offering platform upgrades at no cost to existing customers.

Schambach adds that Demandware can also support third-party data feed technology, and that he’s continuing to position Demandware to offer a complete suite of e-commerce applications as well as the flexibility to integrate with outside applications that a retailer may prefer to deploy.
