KXEN’s Analytic Framework Allows Online Retailer to Build and Improve Predictive Analytical Models More Quickly
SAN FRANCISCO, June 13, 2006 - The highly competitive world of online retailing is always looking for ways to increase its customer base by boosting the conversion of visitors to customers and the amount spent per customer. “We knew we’d be doing more and more modeling,” said Burk, “That’s the nature of our business. Our models will go stale quickly because user behavior changes quickly. With KXEN we can focus on augmentation of the data set to build a better model. With other tools, most of our time is spent building the model, leaving less time to focus on the data that we have and on what additional data we can bring in to improve the model.” Burk estimates his team is producing four to six times the number of models using KXEN versus the previous predictive analytic toolsets used. Burk foresees using KXEN for predictive analytic work in a variety of applications within Overstock.
