Site search provider Endeca Technologies Inc. has landed two more online booksellers. The company announced today that ChristianBook.com, the online arm of Christian Book Distributors Inc., and Canadian bookseller Indigo Books & Music Inc.’s chapters.indigo.ca will employ Endeca’s InFront for Guided Navigation product on their web sites.

Christian Book Distributors says most customers search for products on the site using a single word. That would result in long lists of results that were difficult for customers to navigate. It says the Endeca product, which organizes results along several lines, helps customers narrow their searches. "Endeca`s Guided Navigation offers the best of both worlds,” said Mark Pepin, IT manager of web development for ChristianBook.com. “Our customers can continue to shop the way they feel most comfortable, but now with Endeca, they can easily navigate and explore a list of results to find the item they want and make a purchase."

Pepin says ChristianBook.com experienced a rapid increase in the browse-to-buy ration after implementing the Endeca technology.

Indigo, Canada`s largest retailer of books, music and videos, expects to implement the technology this fall. It operates under the names Indigo Books Music & more, Chapters, Coles, SmithBooks, and World`s Biggest Bookstore.
