Sundance Catalog Co. Taps Center 7 to Host E-Commerce Sites

SundanceOutlet.com Is Up and Running, With SundanceCatalog.com to Follow

SALT LAKE CITY--Nov. 7, 2001--Center 7 Inc., a leading provider of managed hosting services, today announced that Sundance Catalog Co. has selected Center 7`s managed e-commerce hosting service known as ProfitCenter(SM) to host the SundanceOutlet.com and SundanceCatalog.com e-commerce sites.

The outlet site is already live, with the full SundanceCatalog.com site to follow in the fourth quarter.

Sundance Catalog Co. was founded by Robert Redford in 1989 to promote the works of independent artists and craftspeople. The Center 7 hosting project entails: (1) moving the existing SundanceOutlet.com and SundanceCatalog.com e-catalog environments from the previous hosting provider to Center 7, and (2) providing a more robust implementation of e-catalog hosting services through ProfitCenter, which includes redundant network connectivity as well as redundant Web servers, application servers, Oracle(R) database servers, and five-way redundant power.

"As we were rebuilding our sites on a new software platform, we needed to find a local hosting facility that could provide the hardware architecture and 24x7 support to meet our growing needs," said Greg Evans, Internet applications analyst at Sundance.

"We reviewed several hosting facilities -- some national, some local -- and found that Center 7 not only had excellent facilities, but also a very knowledgeable and well prepared staff. We were looking for more than just a facility to provide rack space and a key to the door. Center 7 gives us the technology and support that lets us sleep at night."

Center 7`s ProfitCenter managed e-commerce hosting service relieves organizations of the burden of managing e-business solutions. It serves as the backbone of a customer`s e-commerce presence and includes infrastructure, database, and more as a "pay-as-you-go" service.

"The launch of SundanceOutlet.com was very seamless," Evans added. "Center 7`s support staff was proactive in meeting our needs and delivering on our objectives. Everything has been on time, and we have yet to experience any bandwidth or network issues that would result in downtime."

He concluded, "We will need to get our core Catalog site re-launched before the busy holiday season. Knowing that our hosting and hardware needs are met allows us to concentrate on coding and designing."

Center 7 Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer Kelly Phillipps added, "Uptime is critical for Sundance`s e-catalog operations, because downtime means lost revenue. Sundance was impressed with our world-class data center and redundant fail-over infrastructure. Plus, we`re able to provide them the access they require for development work."

Phillipps concluded, "We`ve really hit our stride with managed hosting. We`ve got great customers and proven solutions. Whether it`s at the customer site or at our world-class data center facility near Salt Lake City, we have the services, IT talent, and infrastructure to help customers accomplish what they need done."
