Chattown.com Network Inc. has added children's games store Childsgear.com to its network. Childsgear.com offers board games, video games, bath toys, plush animals and ride-on toys. It also plans to offer children's apparel.
Chattown.com plans to add 35 to 40 web sites by yearend 2000, says Thomas P. Clay, chief executive officer. Sarasota, Fla.-based Chattown.com is the main portal used by VPM, an Internet marketing company. Its primary business model is to diversify and develop content-based web sites. Other sites in the Network will offer interactive video and audio technology, financial content and other e-commerce services, he says.
With the addition of Childsgear.com, the Chattown.com Network includes 14 mostly chat-oriented web sites, Chattown.com, ChattownUSA.com, HoundDog.com, Loversonly.com, Chattersworld.com, 1chatblvd.com, Chitterchatter.com, Chatsports.com, Chatpolitics.com, Bell2Bell.com, PennyPicks.com, StockMarketChat.com and ZoneDk.com.
