Tom Dickson founded Blendtec, now a division of K-TEC, in 1975 and revolutionized the way homemakers would mill wheat into flour by combining a versatile vacuum cleaner motor with a rotor and stator micronetic-milling chamber. Years later, as smoothies grew in popularity, companies turned to Blendtec to develop high performing, durable blenders for commercial use. Blendtec introduced a number of innovations that would change the way the world blends, including creating the most powerful blenders, electronically controlled blenders, programmable blend cycles, and in-counter motors. Blendtec has been a leader in using online videos—starring Tom—to promote products.
