Heather Dougherty, E-Retail Analyst, Nielsen/NetRatings
Heather Dougherty is a leading authority in online commerce and marketing, covering the field since 1997. Before
recently joining Nielsen/NetRatings, Heather worked at Gartner, where she acted as project lead for custom research
products for such companies as SGI and IBM. Prior to Gartner, she spent four years with Jupiter Research covering
online retail and commerce, including marketing & promotions, merchandising, and personalization. While at Jupiter,
Heather provided strategic consulting services to leading companies such as Citibank, AOL, 1-800-Flowers, and Amazon.com.
Prior to joining Jupiter Research, she worked in usability testing at CompuServe. Heather has been interviewed frequently
on television and radio and by national print and Internet publications including ABC World News Tonight, CNBC, NPR,
Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Business Week. She earned a B.S. in business administration and marketing at
The Ohio State University.
